Why Grid Aero
Real needs. Real aircraft. Real opportunity.
Grid Aero is building autonomous, optionally attritable aircraft for contested environments - systems designed to restore mass, flexibility, and resilience where traditional approaches are too costly, too scarce, or too complex to risk everywhere they may be needed.
Here, the distance between idea, decision, hardware, and test is short. Engineers and builders work close to the aircraft, close to the mission, and close to the opportunity to see their work take shape.
The work
Close to the aircraft. Close to the mission.
Grid is a hands-on aircraft company. Our teams design, build, integrate, test, repair, and improve real hardware across our San Leandro headquarters and dedicated flight test site.
San Leandro brings engineering, manufacturing, integration, and company operations together. The test site is where teams support ground testing, flight-test operations, validation, and data collection. Many roles involve time in both environments and direct exposure to the aircraft from build through test.

From concept to component
In hours, not weeks.
With tooling in our facility, Grid engineers can design, fabricate, fit, and improve aircraft hardware while the problem is still fresh. The people solving the problem are close to the tools, close to the aircraft, and close to the feedback.
Here ideas do not disappear into a queue. Parts can be made, tested, adjusted, and brought back into the build within a short and direct feedback loop.

Who thrives here
Grid is a good fit for builders who like ownership and direct contact with what is being built.
People who do well here tend to be practical, communicative, technically strong, and comfortable making progress before every variable is perfectly known.
They care about the mission, but they also care about the details - because in aerospace, details become outcomes.
Teams
Design the airframes, structures, propulsion systems, flight sciences, and integrations that make Grid Aero aircraft useful, rugged, and real. This team turns mission requirements into aircraft that can be built, tested, repaired, and improved.
Life at Grid Aero
The work is serious. The people are human.
From shop-floor milestones and flight-test days to team gatherings, field work, and the moments in between, Grid is built by people who show up for each other.
